Members of The WorkPlace Solution  have a voice in how claims are handled and are kept up to date on any important developments — so there are no surprises.

Execution:  Doing the basic things right like providing a prompt and proactive response to claims and hearings – making sure nothing slips through the cracks.

Employee Welfare: We ensure your employees get immediate attention and the medical help they need and we encourage our clients to have continual and open communication with their injured team members.  Our goal is to get employees back to work as quickly as possible.

Cost Containment:  We use fee schedules and negotiate discounts to save members significant dollars in medical payments.

Holistic Approach to Claims Management:  Often medical or family issues will prevent an employee from returning to work in a reasonable amount of time.  We work closely with employees and health care providers to ensure providers address every aspect of the patient’s life and medical history.

Case Load Limits:  Our claims adjusters have a limit of 125 open cases at any given time, ensuring maximum focus on client needs.

Quarterly claim file reviews:  WPS members have  access to our claim management system, adjusters notes, and payment information.  We also review files quarterly and update our clients regularly.

Karen Consiglio


Vice President, Claims

Karen has over 28 years of insurance claims experience, beginning with her role in Risk Management at United Parcel Service in Massachusetts.  She went on to Liberty Mutual Insurance to adjust workers’ compensation claims for large, national accounts.  From there, Karen decided to join a large insurance agency in Connecticut in 1995, to further utilize her background.  She eventually assumed the role of claims advocate for all lines of commercial business.

Karen joined Sinclair Risk & Financial Management in October  2014 and has become a key member of The WorkPlace Solution’s service team.  Her responsibilities include assisting our clients with their claim management needs while monitoring the insurance carriers’ handling of them, conducting coverage reviews, and serving as a liaison between our clients and the insurance carriers.  Karen works with clients in a variety of industries, including construction, manufacturing, retail, and social services.  Her main focus is advocating for our clients’ Workers’ Compensation claims in our WorkPlace Solution captive program.

As both a licensed property, casualty agent, and licensed workers’ compensation adjuster in Connecticut, Karen’s strong commitment to customer service and dedication to her clients have proven to be invaluable in negotiating reserve reductions and claim resolutions.

Karen is a graduate of Becker College and lives in Colchester with her husband and two sons.  She enjoys traveling, reading, and attending her boys’ many sporting events.
